There is a completely unique, utterly magical sensation created during the few moments of a total solar eclipse. The temperature drops by twenty degrees as a sudden twilight descends. Night creatures begin to emerge and the birds grow quiet. A 360-degree sunset lights the land in a complete circle on the horizon. A few stars begin to appear in the darkest part of the sky, and for just a blink you are able to look directly at the flaming ring in the sky: the Sun totally blocked by the Moon. It feels like being on another planet. Afterwards, you retain the vividness of this memory and yearn to return to this special place.
